Old Fashioned Living; Old Fashioned Values; Old Fashioned Love

Where respect is expected with Old Fashioned discipline. Yes, it all begins at home but what about the 7 or 8 hours your child is in public school? The English language suddenly becomes vulgar in the everyday conversations. (Even the youngest children.) We are, truly, blessed and thankful for the Galilean Christian Academy where "Christ like" behavior is the norm here.

School is out for the summer and keeping dozens of children busy and occupied is a full time job. If only we can keep the little boys from bringing frogs, snakes and half of the sandbox in the house. Our sandbox was built to accommodate 13 tons of sand which we have to replenish every year. I think most of it is carried in their hair. Regardless, the sandbox can occupy children fro hours.

Since we blacktopped the backyard driveway, bike riding is second to swimming. If only we had enough bikes and helmets to go around. Sharing is quickly learned but they are not always willing.

Summer is fun but requires more Band Aids and kisses for boo boos. Life gets pretty interesting around here with children everywhere and daily tours of curious visitors. Many comment that they didn't know what to expect with 70 children and left overwhelmed, humbled and blessed. Sometimes you'll see tears well up in their eyes as they venture through our medical facility, where 14 children lay helpless, and twisted needing total care.

I tell them, don't feel sorry for these children but pity the ones who never made it here. These children are clean, fed, comfortable and happy. Just think of the ones out in the world who are starving, neglected and abused. God bless His children and those who have compassion. This world is in a degrading tailspin and our only hope and Salvation is Jesus Christ. The churches are filled with bench warmers with many cold hearts--veteran Christians that do not have a heart for missions. It is impossible to be "Christ like" without a missionary heart. Jesus was the example of what we need to be. Reach out and help someone, even one. How many lives are you affecting today? Think about it! Whatever happened to old fashioned love? Ever to Christ...
