God's Biggest Blessings are Little Ones

The Angel House is bursting with babies and children. Fourteen precious little ones are the highlight of this ministry. Their mommies are incarcerated mostly for drug crimes and are striving to straighten out and renew their lives for a better future. Their babies are light at the end of the tunnel and open the door to commit their lives to God. Many have become dedicated Christians through this ministry and visits from their babies.

Our Connecticut babies will soon visit their mommies as soon as we raise the air fare. The Galilean children and staff are planning some fundraisers to contribute to the expenses. The following letter expresses the aching heart of a mother yearning to see her baby:

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Tucker,

This is a sincere request that you consider possibly bringing Baby Stevie for a visit. I now know that I will not be going anywhere in the near future and Stevie is getting big quickly. I understand the cost involved to accommodate such a request. But please also realize that Stevie will be a year old before we know it and especially not having seen her since she was born. I want to hold her, touch her, feel her. Also, it may help in your decision making to know that Penny, the twin's mommy, is back from West Virginia. I'm sure she would love to see her girls too.

In closing, I hope that you are all healthy and that God is watching over us. I can't wait to see a picture of my little baby girl n the Easter dress I made for her!! You are all in my prayers.

Love Linda,

P.S. Please thank everyone for taking such good care of Stevie. She looks very healthy and happy in all her pictures.

In the last ten years hundreds of babies have come to us while their incarcerated mommies paid their debt to society. Many of the babies were rescued from abortion because we were there to give the mothers hope of getting their baby back. The love and friendship that resulted from the weekly visits with their babies and child care staff was priceless and rewarding to everyone. How can anyone deny the love of a parent? Yes, it is a shame that these women got caught up in a crime...and yes, most of them deserve to pay a price. But what has the baby done to deserve losing its mommy?

The issue is even with our own sins. It's not how many times we fall and sing against God, but rather how many times we get up, dust ourselves off and finally accept the fact that Jesus is our only strength we can succeed with. Then again there are people in prison because of being in the wrong place at the wrong time with a wrong person. Drug crimes are served with no parole. A murderer often serves less time than even one charged with conspiracy of drugs. Three children came to our home when their mother received a one year sentence for laundering (she withdrew some money from her brothers bank account to get him our on bail.) The money was drug money. She was arrested. Her own mother was arrested for conspiracy because she didn't turn her son in who was guilty of dealing drugs. She got 22 years, no parole and her son has to serve 24 years, no parole. There's something wrong with this picture. As society--even the churches--throws stones at those accused, they too will someday come face to face with God for all of their silent sins and shortcomings. As those who claim to be Christians continue to turn their backs on God's children--the needy, hungry, elderly, and imprisoned who are lost without Christ--they will pay a higher price than life without parole.

My heart bleeds for the children, their families who truly love them, and for the neglected seniors deprived of a decent life where many cannot even afford their medicine or adequate meals.

Our cafe doesn't only provide a controlled Christian environment for our young people to work in, it also provides jobs for many widows and women with disabled husbands. We truly want to be a blessing to our community. When seniors living on a meager fixed income can't afford to eat out, we reserve every Thursday evening for them to eat at half price.

This is part of our ministry, reaching out to the elderly. Young and old, God loves us all but God's biggest blessings are His little ones.

Because you care, we continue caring for those abused, abandoned and forgotten

Jerry, Sandy and Children.
